Discrimination
Law
With
increasing frequency, the Massachusetts Commission Against
Discrimination (MCAD) has become the subject of front-page
news. In its effort to aggressively enforce civil-rights laws,
the MCAD now routinely issues substantial damage awards against
employers in connection with discrimination claims relating
to age, disability, gender, sexual harassment, and race.
Published
monthly since 1979, Landlaw's Massachusetts Discrimination
Law Reporter (MDLR) is an indispensable research tool for
attorneys in this rapidly expanding practice area. Corporate
human-resource directors rely on the Reporter to design nondiscriminatory
employment and termination policies that minimize costly damage
awards against employers. Familiarity with current MCAD policies
and decisions can also help reduce legal expenses and avoid
negative publicity.
In
addition to providing the full text of all MCAD decisions,
MDLR includes detailed case-by-case subject-matter digests,
cumulative subject-matter indices linked to over 400 subject-matter
classifications, cumulative indices of cases cited, relevant
statutes, and commentary on the decisions from both a management
and a plaintiff perspective. Adding their expert analyses
to the publication are Pat Washienko
of the Law Offices of Pat Washienko, Katherine
Michon and David Conforto of Shilepsky, O'Connell, Casey, Hartley, Michon, and Yelen, LLP, and Leah Moore of Seyfarth Shaw in Boston.
Subscriptions
to MDLR are available at $560 per year. Back volumes may be
purchased for $150 per volume. To order a subscription, simply
call us at (617) 879-3133 or (800) 637-6330 (Massachusetts
only) or e-mail us at ordermdlr@landlaw.com and we will enroll
