Brendan Sweeney is a Boston employment attorney who recently joined Freiberger & Washienko, LLC as an Associate. Mr. Sweeney’s practice focuses on advising employees in a broad range of everyday employment matters, and assisting employees with negotiating employment and separation agreements. Mr. Sweeney also works with the litigation team at Freiberger & Washienko to prosecute claims on behalf of individuals in a wide range of workplace related disputes. These include discrimination, wrongful discharge, sexual harassment, retaliation, FMLA and disability accommodation, wage and hour issues, breach of contract, misrepresentation, and defamation. Mr. Sweeney represents individuals in state and federal court, and at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
Prior to joining Freiberger & Washienko, Mr. Sweeney held internships at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Boston University Office of the General Counsel, and Krokidas & Bluestein LLP. While attending Boston University School of Law, Mr. Sweeney served as an Article Editor for the Boston University International Law Journal and as a Student Attorney for the International Human Rights Clinic. Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Sweeney worked as an English language teacher in rural Japan.
Mr. Sweeney received his undergraduate degree, with honors, from Boston University. He is a “double terrier,” having also earned his law degree, with honors, from Boston University School of Law. Mr. Sweeney is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
