Jesse D. SchomerJesse D. Schomer practices at the law firm of Dain, Torpy, Le Ray, Wiest & Garner, P.C. Jesse’s law practice focuses on real estate development, land use, zoning/permitting, and real estate litigation. Jesse’s particular expertise is in the representation of affordable housing developers under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40B before local zoning boards of appeals, the Massachusetts Housing Appeals Committee, and in the courts.

Jesse’s other areas of practice include subdivision control permitting, environmental/wetlands permitting, and Land Court practice and litigation. Prior to joining Dain Torpy, Jesse was Co-Managing Partner at Regnante Sterio LLP in Wakefield, MA and Chair of its Land Use and Development Practice Group. His other prior legal experience includes work for the Massachusetts Land Court and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as private practice at a boutique real estate litigation firm in New York City.

Jesse is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts (REBA), the Boston Bar Association (BBA), and the Citizens Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA). He is the Co-Chair of REBA’s Affordable Housing Section and has participated in multiple REBA seminars regarding Chapter 40B and other issues relating to affordable housing. Jesse is a graduate of Hendrix College (B.A.), the University of Notre Dame (J.D.), and CUNY Graduate Center (M.Phil.), and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey.
