Lisa J. Damon, Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination Reporter Commentator

Lisa J. Damon Lisa J. Damon serves as National Chair of Seyfarth's Labor & Employment Department, where she represents management in employment and labor law. She focuses on litigation of discrimination and harassment claims in the context of single-plaintiff actions and multiple-plaintiff claims. Additionally, Lisa J. Damon's practice is dedicated to consulting with clients on avoiding employment litigation, via improved management practices and procedures, constructive employee relations, training/development and diversity assessment. She consults with organizations nationwide on diversity-related issues and conducts privileged and non-privileged workplace audits/assessments. Ms. Damon also works with managers to create and improve diversity programs, helping companies limit class action liability and achieve diversity goals.
Ms. Damon has substantial experience litigating and advising clients regarding all aspects of employment law, such as reductions in force, sexual harassment investigations, accommodation of disabled workers, hiring and termination, employment policies and privacy issues.
One of the founding partners of Seyfarth's Boston office, Ms. Damon serves on the firm's Executive Committee and leads the Seyfarth Lean Six Sigma program throughout the Firm. She is a certified GreenBelt.
Ms. Damon speaks extensively, both on a local and national level, on numerous aspects of employment law, employment litigation, diversity, and the use of lean six sigma in legal processes. She is a frequent defense employer commentator on MCAD Administrative Decisions in the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination Reporter.
Within the past year, Ms. Damon has been recognized with four prominent national distinctions: She was named one of the top 10 Agents of Change in the Financial Times U.S. Innovative Lawyer Report 2012; she was featured among the 10 most innovative attorneys in the country by the ABA Journal's "Legal Rebels: Big Change in Big Law"; she was honored by Chambers USA as the 2012 Woman Employment Attorney of the Year, in large part due to her efforts with SeyfarthLean; and, she was recognized by the Association of Corporate Counsel as a 2012 ACC Value Champion. Additionally, she is a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and of the College of Law Practice Management.
Ms. Damon received a J.D. and M.S. from Fordham University, and a B.A. from Beloit College.
